About Cheryl

During my teen years, I often cranked up my phonograph player with Moonlight Sonata or The Beatles and wrote poetry. None of it is worth a mention now but the desire to write was there. I dreamed of one day holding a book I had written in my hands.

Many years later, the dream came true. In between, lots of life happened. I met my husband Stan in college and we embarked on an adventure of managing careers, raising a family, and devoting time to ministry in our local church. And now, we find ourselves writing books together.

I had the privilege of being Mom to the four most amazing men in the world. They gifted me with four lovely daughters-in-love and thirteen young humans who call me Grammy.

In 2016, we began construction on a farmhouse retreat with a goal of creating a look and feel of our grandparents’ era. Even more than this, we sought to create a place of rest, comfort, and where stories are discovered. Everything about the land inspires me and has transformed me into a country girl at heart–and a better writer.

Now retired from the traveling literacy consultant life, I relish the time to write. I love God’s truth, being with my people, rocking on the farmhouse porch, and watching sunsets over the pond.

We might just find the ordinary is extraordinary, after all.
